Celebrating Curaçao’s First-Ever Participation in the FIFA World Cup

WILLEMSTAD – June 5, 2026 – To celebrate Curaçao’s first-ever participation in the 2026 FIFA world Cup, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and Curoil, is launching the Blue Wave Village in Houston, Texas. The Blue Wave Village was created as a gathering where Curaçao supporters and football fans in Houston can come together to celebrate Curaçao’s participation in the FIFA World Cup as the smallest country ever to qualify for the tournament. Curaçao will bring its vibrant culture, flavors, and music to Houston. The United States is one of Curaçao’s strongest tourism markets and plays an important role in CTB’s promotional strategy. Following the match between Curaçao and Germany, the festivities will continue at the Blue Wave Village, providing fans with an opportunity to connect and celebrate Curaçao’s historic World Cup debut while also watching the Netherlands vs. Japan match on a giant screen. During a press conference, Mr. Muryad de Bruin, Managing Director of CTB, shared details about the initiative. Admission to the Blue Wave Village is free of charge; however, registration is required through CTB’s website: curacaotouristboard.com

Registration is limited to one ticket per person. Tickets are complimentary and may not be transferred to another person or sold. Only individuals who have purchased match tickets through FFK or directly through FIFA are eligible to register for access to the Blue Wave Village. International media and influencers will also join the Blue Wave Village. The Blue Wave Village is an extension of the Blue Nation concept, celebrating our beloved Curaçao. Capacity is limited. To register, visit curacaotouristboard.com.
