The Partnership, announced at the CARMABI Research Station, signals a shared commitment to celebrating and protecting Curaçao’s extraordinary ecosystems.

WILLEMSTAD – May 4, 2026 – The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and WOW! The Nature Film today announced a strategic partnership to showcase the Dutch Caribbean islands— with Curaçao as a key highlight—to the world through the eyes of the creatures that call these islands home. The announcement was made at a press moment held at the CARMABI Research Station in Curaçao, a symbolic location at the heart of the island’s scientific and conservation legacy.

WOW! The Nature Film is a multimedia project dedicated to the ecosystems of the Dutch Caribbean. It will showcase the six Dutch Caribbean islands in different ways. Amongst others, via a cinema movie, 6 documentaries highlighting the relation between humans and nature on the islands, a podcast, educational programs and a database. Through storytelling and world-class (underwater) cinematography, WOW! aims to spark wonder and raise awareness about the fragility and richness of these environments.

For CTB, the partnership is a natural extension of its mission to present Curaçao not only as a destination, but as an experience rooted in authenticity and natural beauty. Beyond its renowned reefs, the island offers a diverse array of natural wonders like hidden coves, striking mangroves, and impressive cliffs, each contributing to Curaçao’s distinctive appeal on the world stage. The documentary series (six episodes) is finished and will be broadcasted in The Netherlands from July 2026 onwards. After that period, the documentaries will be shown on local television.

The film itself is scheduled to premiere in 2027. Through this partnership, CTB will support the production and co-facilitate access to key locations, while helping amplify the film’s reach to international audiences.
