WILLEMSTAD – May 16, 2025 – Recently,Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Charles Cooper, unveiled a sign showcasing a visual impression of the next phase of development in the Zakitó public area. This phase will focus on upgrading the small beach at the main entrance of Koredor (the recreational area of Zakitó), constructing a man-made beach near the Sundance building, and expanding recreational facilities at Koredor. Currently, the project plans are being finalized, and the necessary consultations and studies are underway in preparation for implementation.
This initiative is funded through resources facilitated by the Ministry of Economic Development. Construction activities will be supervised by Heren2 Caribbean, while overall project coordination is managed by the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB). The Zakitó public area is a popular area, especially for locals and tourists engaging in sports, as well as for social gatherings. The upcoming improvements are expected to further enhance the area’s recreational value, offering both locals and tourists an even more enjoyable experience.
