Through Kids Tourism Experience 2026

WILLEMSTAD – July 22, 2026 – Recently, Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) organized another edition of the Kids Tourism Experience (KTE), introducing students from primary and special education schools to Curaçao’s tourism industry. As part of the program, the children participated in guided tours, educational workshops, demonstrations, and interactive activities. They had the opportunity to ask questions, meet tourism professionals, and gain a better understanding of how the different sectors work together to create Curaçao’s tourism product. A total of 1,006 students from 36 schools participated in the 2026 edition of the KTE.

The KTE is the practical component of the Tourism Education Program, which introduces tourism as a subject in schools. KTE aims to transform classroom lessons into real-world experiences. Each participating school visited one tourism attraction or business. These included, Hòfi Mango, Shete Boka National Park, and the Hato Caves, where they explored Curaçao’s natural beauty and rich history; several hotels, where they learned about the many career opportunities available within the hospitality industry; also, museums, the airport, and the Mega Pier, where they gained insight into different sectors of the tourism industry. Other students participated in a creative painting session at the Marie Pampoen Recreation Area or visited Amazonia, where they enjoyed a guided tour and observed one of the park’s animal-feeding presentations.
