WILLEMSTAD – March 19, 2024 – Recently, a team from Curaçao consisting of representatives from the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), and several private sector partners participated in the ‘Internationale Tourismus-Börse’ (ITB) in Germany, the world’s leading travel trade show. This year, ITB featured 5500 exhibitors representing 170 countries and attracted over 100,000 visitors. Curaçao’s primary objective in participating was to strengthen commercial ties with business partners in Germany. Throughout the 3-day fair, the Curaçao team engaged with tour operators, online travel agencies (OTA’s), airlines, and the trade press.

The main goal of the conversations held was to strategize on collaborative efforts to increase visitor numbers from Germany to Curaçao. Several tour operators indicated they would expand their Curaçao portfolio with more of our accommodations and tourist attractions, while others indicated their interest in adding Curaçao to their portfolio as a new destination. At ITB 2024, CTB took the opportunity to introduce Ms. Susan Vrolijk, the new manager for the European region, to German trade partners.

CTB extends its gratitude to the private sector partners who were part of the Curaçao team during ITB 2024; Coral Estate Luxury Resort, Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort, LionsDive Beach Resort Curaçao, Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort, Sandals Royal Curaçao, FBTT, Morena Eco Resort, Acoya Curaçao Resort, Villas & Spa, Mangrove Beach Corendon Curaçao All-Inclusive Resort, Curio by Hilton, and Blue Bay Curaçao Golf & Beach Resort. Germany remains an important market for Curaçao, underscoring the importance of engaging in events like ITB to collaborate with partners such as tour operators and airlines in exploring opportunities to attract more visitors to our destination.
