February 1, 2024

WILLEMSTAD – February 1, 2024 – Tourism is a service-oriented industry, where customer satisfaction is extremely important. When travelers have a positive experience, they are more likely to return to Curaçao and recommend our destination to others. Therefore, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) organized a seminar with the primary objective of enhancing the quality of service provided to both tourists and the local community. The seminar was led by the expert Mr. Jonatan Loidi, certified by the Disney Institute in the areas of service quality and leadership. Almost 300 individuals directly or indirectly associated with the tourism industry participated in the seminar, which was offered free of charge.

The seminar began with welcoming remarks from the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Ruisandro Cijntje, followed by a presentation by Mr. Andre Rojer (CTB) on the development of tourism in Curaçao and the tourism product that Curaçao offers. Additionally, Mr. Loidi described the service delivery model according to Disney World standards, thereby emphasizing how to apply this model in an organization. He used simple examples that can be applied in different sectors. He also covered topics such as customer-centricity, expectations versus reality, attitude, leadership with a focus on service, and quality standards. Mr. Loidi has extensive experience and conducts seminars in different parts of the world. For the participants, the seminar provided a great opportunity to acquire the necessary tools to further develop their skills and elevate the level of customer service for both our local community and tourists.

The seminar participants included hotels, restaurants, airports, small accommodations, attractions, taxi drivers, tour operators, travel agents, tour guides, security companies, and government departments. The Curaçao Tourist Board remains dedicated to investing in projects that aim to elevate the overall tourism experience.
