Match between Germany and Curaçao also Promoted
WILLEMSTAD – January 29, 2026 –Recently, Curaçao Tourist Board, together with six partners from the private sector, participated in the international diving fair boot Düsseldorf 2026. Recognized as the world’s largest international water sports exhibition, the event is held annually in Germany and attracts thousands of visitors from across the globe. The main objective of Curaçao’s participation was to position the island as a premier diving destination, highlighting its world-class diving sites. During the fair, the Curaçao team conducted several interviews on the Dive Stage and delivered three presentations on the Destination Seaside Stage. These presentations, themed, “Know Your Opponent” creatively compared Curaçao and Germany in the context of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, offering an engaging and entertaining experience for attendees.
In addition, Curaçao achieved a Top 3 ranking in the Dive Awards within the category “Best Destination”, further reinforcing its international reputation as a leading diving location. Boot Düsseldorf 2026 featured 68 destinations showcasing their tourism products and welcomed more than 200.000 visitors from 110 countries. The event also received extensive media coverage, with 1,810 journalists and content creators from 49 countries reporting through various media outlets and television channels.
The Curaçao team hosted a stand in the Diving Hall, where visitors were able to receive information about the island’s most popular diving sites. Besides promoting Curaçao as an ideal diving destination, the team also shared the excitement surrounding the island’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Visitors were additionally invited to support the upcoming match between Germany and Curaçao, scheduled for June 14.
