WILLEMSTAD – January 16, 2026 –Once again, Curaçao was present at Vakantiebeurs Utrecht. This year, Curaçao Tourist Board, joined forces with 9 private sector partners to form the Curaçao team. In addition to highlighting Curaçao’s beautiful landscape, rich culture, diverse accommodations and unique attractions, the 2026 participation featured a special Blue Wave element. A large visual display of the Curaçao National Football Team, the Blue Wave champions, where visitors could take photos. This activation allowed visitors to feel the excitement that Curaçao’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup has brought to the destination, while also encouraging them to travel to Curaçao to watch the matches.
To engage younger audiences, the stand included an interactive gaming area where visitors could enjoy various online games within the Curaçao branding. Through a virtual experience, visitors were able to feel as if they were racing cars through the island. In addition, partners offered attractive prize raffles to visitors of the Curaçao stand, further enhancing engagement.
Following Vakantiebeurs, CTB organized the workshop ‘Curaçao, Beleef de avond met mij’, aimed at strengthening travel agents’ knowledge of Curaçao’s tourism offerings. The workshop featured a dynamic ‘speed-dating’ format, during which 10 destination partners presented their products to the travel agents. A total of 50 travel agents participated in the workshop. To give the workshop a cultural touch, Qshans a well-known musician from Curaçao currently residing in the Netherlands, shared elements of the destination’s musical culture with attendees. Through an entertaining and interactive session, Qshans provided insights while inviting participants to dance to music from Curaçao. He was joined by DJ BrianK, also from Curaçao.
