CTB and COIA Sign Strategic MOU for a Greener and More Sustainable Future

WILLEMSTAD – May 26, 2026 – On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity, commemorated annually on May 22, Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Curaçao Outdoor Industry Alliance (COIA) to reinforce Curaçao’s commitment to sustainable tourism, environmental conservation, and community engagement. This collaboration aligns with the resolutions and priorities identified during the National Tourism Conference (NTC) 2024, as well as CTB’s Product Department goals for 2026. Through this partnership, both organizations aim to further position Curaçao as a destination where tourism, biodiversity, cultural heritage, and environmental protection coexist in harmony. The agreement was signed in the presence of the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Roderick Middelhof, by Muryad de Bruin, Managing Director of CTB, and Terence Ching, President of COIA.

The areas of cooperation outlined in the MOU include, among others, ecological restoration and management, environmental education and advocacy, sustainable tourism integration, community engagement, research collaboration, sustainable infrastructure development, and the advancement of environmentally responsible tourism practice and regulations.

Through this partnership, both parties have committed to working together to create a positive and lasting impact for both the local community and visitors to Curaçao.
