CTB Presents Action Plan for Second Half of 2024 to the Private Sector

WILLEMSTAD- June 26, 2024 – Recently, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) presented to the private sector partners a summary of the actions performed in the first half of 2024 and plans for the rest of 2024, focusing on the North American, European, South American, and Caribbean regions. The presentation included participation from representatives of hotels, resorts apartments, tour operators, and tourist attractions.

During the presentation information was provided on the refreshed ‘Feel It For Yourself’ campaign, aimed at increasing interest in visiting Curaçao by engaging target audiences with vibrant and colorful advertisements along with a new promotional video showcasing all that makes our destination the most authentic and a must-visit place. Marketing tactics and actions taken in the first half of the year, their results, and planned actions for the remaining six months of the year were also shared. Furthermore, CTB elaborated on the growth of stayover tourism from all focus markets and the expected percentage increase for the rest of the year, considering the current number of flights to Curaçao, increases in flight schedules from various source markets, and additional seats due to planned inaugural flights to Curaçao. Additionally, a review was provided of the most popular general areas in Curaçao based on feedback from tourists, respectively #1 Downtown Punda and 2# Pontoon bridge, as well as a satisfaction rating on friendliness of our people; approximately 93% of the tourists rated the variables service delivered by tourism employees and the public in general as excellent and very good.

Moreover, specific strategies to attract more visitors from all regions were detailed including participation in various fairs, educational workshops for travel agents, events promotions, sales missions and fostering joint initiatives. An outline was also given of the profile of tourists received from each region. Finally, an overview of all activities carried out in the first half year and those planned for the remainder of 2024 in terms of both product development and management was provided.

In the last quarter of the year, CTB will share the results from the first nine months with the private sector and outline the initial plans for 2025.
