Curaçao “speed dates” its way through North American Travel Media

WILLEMSTAD- February 20, 2018 – Recently, Curaçao participated in the TravMedia’s International Media Marketplace in New York City. Ms. Gianina Atalita (CTB) and Ms. Michelle George (Diamond PR) met with 24 top-tier journalists in a series of 15-minute, one-on-one appointments to share island news, unique story angles and to build stronger media relationships for future collaboration opportunities.

The event was held at the Javits Center in the glass-enclosed River Pavilion and included 300 North American journalists for a series of desk-side style appointments and more than four hours of networking opportunities. Throughout the day, the representatives met several editors and freelance writers who contribute to outlets within the island’s target niche and geographic markets including the Destination Editor of Lonely Planet, the Managing Editor of New York Lifestyles Magazine, the Associate Editor of Endless Vacation, and the Associate Editor of SmarterTravel, to name a few. Other writers represented Condé Nast Traveler, Travel Channel, USA Today, The Globe & Mail, Porthole Cruise Magazine, am New York, Time Out New York, Brides, Thrillist, the Philadelphia Sun Newspaper, the Queens Chronicle and more.
