Curaçao welcomed 79,387 stayover visitors in January 2026

WILLEMSTAD – February 13, 2026 – The Curaçao Tourist Board reports that January 2026 reflected a continued level of stayover arrivals to the island, supported by demand across key source markets.  January 2026 recorded an increase of 8% in stayover arrivals compared to January 2025, welcoming an additional 6,098 visitors. A total of 79,387 stayover visitors were welcomed in the first month of the year. This consistent performance reflects traveler demand and marks a vibrant peak-season month, with stayover arrivals reaching nearly eighty thousand in a single month.

Performance by region was positive from South America, North America and Europe. South America recorded a 15% increase in arrivals, North America grew by 8%, and Europe increased by 6% compared to January 2025. In contrast, the Caribbean region recorded a decline of 6%. In absolute numbers, Europe remained the main source region with 28,922 stayover visitors, followed by North America with 25,651 and South America with 21,053 stayover visitors. According to Immigration Card data, visitors stayed an average of 9.4 nights during the month of January, which is a 4% increase in average nights compared to January 2025.

Top 3 Source Markets in January 2026

The Netherlands: Curaçao welcomed 24,443 visitors from the Netherlands, a 6% increase compared to 23,109 arrivals in January 2025. Most Dutch visitors (59%) chose non-resort accommodations, while 41% stayed at resorts. On average, Dutch visitors stayed for 13.7 nights during their visit.

United States of America: The USA continues to be an important source market for Curaçao, recording a 2% increase in arrivals, reaching 18,069 visitors in January 2026. Most American visitors (63%) stayed in resort hotels, while 37% opted for other accommodation types. On average, visitors from the USA stayed for 6.4 nights.

Canada:  Visitor numbers from Canada surged by 26% in January 2026, totaling 7,582 arrivals compared to 6,006 in January 2025. Canadian visitors stayed an average of 11 nights, with 50% choosing to stay in resort hotels.

So far Curaçao welcomed 79,387 stayover arrivals, 3,720 day-trippers and 128,825 cruise passengers, welcoming a total of 211,932 arrivals in January 2026.
