Curaçao greeted 68,188 stayover visitors in April 2025

WILLEMSTAD – May 15, 2025 – The Curaçao Tourist Board is pleased to report continued momentum during the high season. The island welcomed 68,188 stayover visitors, representing an 18% increase compared to the same month in 2024, an absolute growth of 10,438 additional stayover visitors. This sustained growth highlights consistent demand in the last month of the peak season.

All source regions recorded positive growth in April. South America saw a 32% increase, the Caribbean 28%, North America 24%, and Europe 8%. In absolute figures, North America and Europe remained the largest source regions, each contributing over 20,000 visitors. From Europe, 27,775 visitors were recorded, while 21,897 visitors arrived from North America. According to Immigration Card data, visitors stayed an average of 8.1 nights in April.

Top 3 Source Markets – April 2025

The Netherlands: Curaçao welcomed 22,154 visitors from the Netherlands, a number comparable to 22,198 visitors in April 2024. A majority (59%) opted for non-resort accommodations, while 41% stayed at resorts. Dutch visitors stayed an average of 11.4 nights. Thirty-three percent of the Dutch visitors are between 45 and 64 years old.

United States of America: The U.S. remains a crucial market, with arrivals increasing by 26% to reach 18,004 visitors, compared to 14,303 in April 2024. Resort hotels were the preferred choice for 68% of American visitors, while 32% chose alternative accommodations. The average length of stay was 5.9 nights. The largest share came from New York (15%), followed by Florida (7%), North Carolina (5%), and Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas (each at 4%).

Canada:  Visitor numbers from Canada increased by 14% in April 2025, totaling 3,893 arrivals compared to 3,409 in April 2024. Canadian visitors stayed an average of 7.6 nights, with 56% choosing to stay in resort hotels. Most Canadians who visited Curaçao in April live in Ontario (48%) and Quebec (29%).

Curaçao’s tourism industry delivered a strong performance during the first four months of 2025, reflecting strategic initiatives to enhance visibility in core markets. The island’s emphasis on market diversification and support from key airline partners contributed to the steady results. From January through April, Curaçao welcomed a total of 680,992 visitors, including 283,555 stayover arrivals, 16,244 day-trippers, and 381,193 cruise passengers.
